As a small business owner, managing your online presence is crucial for attracting and engaging customers. One powerful tool to streamline this process is Google Business Profile.
What is Google Business Profile (GBP)
If you're not familiar with it, a Google Business Profile is a free tool provided by Google that lets you manage how your business appears on Google Search and Google Maps. It’s an essential part of local SEO, helping customers find and connect with your business quickly.
Why Add Social Links to Your GBP?
The good news is that your Google Business Profile isn’t just about providing your business details like location, hours, and contact info. It’s also a great way to integrate and showcase your social media presence.
Google now allows you to link your social media accounts directly on your business profile, making it easier for customers to find your pages and engage with you across different platforms.
By connecting your socials to your GBP, you’re creating a seamless experience for your customers
By connecting your social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to your Google Business Profile, you’re creating a seamless experience for your customers. They can easily visit your social media pages from your Google listing without having to search for them separately. This can increase your visibility, build trust with potential customers, and make your business more accessible.
Google shows your social media updates on your GBP when people search for your business
Additionally, Google displays your latest social media updates (for free!) on your Google Business Profile when people search for your business - just like for Yoga Box in the picture above.
This means your posts, promotions, or recent activity on social media will appear directly on your Google listing, giving you even more exposure and keeping potential customers informed and engaged in real-time. This added visibility can help build your brand and keep you top of mind.
How to Add Your Social Links to GBP

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to link your social media accounts to your Google Business Profile.
Sign in to Google Business Profile: Go to Google Business Profile (open your browser or Maps and search for your business name like above picture) and sign in with your business account. If you don’t have a Google Profile yet, you can set one up for free here, or claim your existing profile to get started.
Edit your profile: On the dashboard, click on Edit Profile or Info or on the mobile browser click About.
Add Social Media Links: Look for the section where you can add additional links or “Social Links or Profiles” Here, you’ll be able to enter the URLs for your social media profiles.
Save and Update: After adding the links, make sure to save the changes. You're done!
Your social media icons will now appear on your Google listing, and Google will start showing your social media updates there as well, usually within 1-2 days.
